Product Details
Coversyl AM 4/5 Tablet is commonly prescribed for managing hypertension (high blood pressure)—a condition where the force of the blood against the walls of the blood vessels is consistently too high. This extra pressure forces the heart to work harder to pump blood throughout the body, which over time can lead to serious health issues such as stroke, heart failure, heart attack, and kidney damage. This medicine combines two active ingredients: Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and Perindopril, an ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitor. Amlodipine works by relaxing the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily. Perindopril also widens the blood vessels and lowers blood pressure, making it easier for the heart to pump efficiently. Together, they help reduce high blood pressure and lower the risk of cardiovascular events like heart attacks and strokes. Take Coversyl AM 4/5 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Some commonly reported side effects may include ankle swelling, fatigue, headache, palpitations (irregular heartbeat), sleepiness, cough, flushing, altered taste, upset stomach, decreased blood pressure, and elevated potassium levels in the blood. Do not stop taking this medicine without medical advice, as it could worsen your condition or increase the risk of heart-related complications. Inform your doctor if you have a history of angioedema (painless swelling under the skin), diabetes, or kidney disease—especially if you are also taking Aliskiren, another medication used for high blood pressure. To support treatment, reduce your sodium intake by cutting back on table salt. Also, let your doctor know if you have any existing medical conditions like heart, liver, or kidney disorders, or if you have high potassium levels. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor, as the dosage may need to be adjusted accordingly.
