Malarialparasite (MP -QBC)The Malaria QBC (Quantitative Buffy Coat) test is a rapid diagnostic method that uses a capillary tube coated with acridine orange dye to concentrate malaria parasites in the buffy coat layer after centrifugation, allowing them to be visualized under a fluorescent microscope. This technique provides quicker detection than conventional blood smears and is useful for screening large numbers of samples, especially in low-parasitemia cases. However, it requires specialized equipment, is more expensive, and is less reliable for species identification and parasite quantification compared to traditional Giemsa-stained thick and thin smears.
