Three medications are combined in Ascoril D Junior Cough Syrup: Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, Phenylephrine, and Chlorpheniramine Maleate. A decongestant, phenylephrine reduces congestion or stuffiness in the nose by constricting the tiny blood vessels. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an anti allergic that reduces sneezing, watery eyes, and runny noses. A cough suppressant called dextromethorphan hydrobromide works by reducing the activity of the brain's cough area.
